长风的柳絮 (Willow Catkins in the Wind)

This incident took place at 18:53 on 2023-07-10, the time when sjfhsjfh sent the message "I'm here to take the blame" in the internal group chat.

Incident Details

While manually operating the database with SQL statements to ban the user "长风的柳絮", sjfhsjfh accidentally sent an unfinished UPDATE statement without a WHERE clause and without properly setting SET banned = TRUE. As a result, every user's username was changed to "长风的柳絮".

Recovering from logs took up Mivik's entire afternoon and evening study session, but fortunately it did not cause major data loss.

Aftermath

As with most things, there were two sides to this incident. Afterward, Mivik gave the review team lead a convenient one-click ban button to help prevent similar incidents from happening again. Unfortunately, sjfhsjfh's streak of bad luck did not end there; see v0.6.0 Update Message.
